What made you choose 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State?
51³Ô¹ÏÍø State was an easy choice for me because it is very close to home, about a 30-minute drive. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State is also very affordable compared to some of the other colleges I was interested in. Finally, I was given the opportunity to come play baseball at the university, which made it a no-doubt choice for me.
What are three words you would use to describe the Viking community? Why?
Diverse, understanding and promising. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State has students from many different backgrounds, which is something I really appreciate because it gives me the chance to meet people from all around the world and learn from different perspectives. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø is also an understanding community when it comes to faculty. Professors are very understanding because they have been in your shoes before and know how stressful college can be. Finally, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø is promising in that it offers everything you would want in a college experience: a diverse student body, understanding professors, city life, and fun campus life. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State is a promising university for your academic goals and long-term life goals.
What is one thing you think a prospective student should know about 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State?
It’s going to be scary at first, but once you get into the flow of managing your time, everything will work out just fine.
What have you done at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State that you are most proud of?
Being on the dean’s list three times. In high school, I wasn’t a strong academic student, and 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State helped me adjust well to college life.
How would you describe the professors at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State?
They want the best for you. None of them wants to see you be unsuccessful in the world.
What has been your favorite class to take?
Theories of Crime and Justice, because we learned about different case studies and dove deep into why people commit crimes and how we could take action to prevent them.
What is your favorite place on campus?
O’Keefe Center.
What is your favorite memory at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State?
Hosting the MASCAC tournament at home for the first time in 15 years.
Do you live in a residence hall or commute? What has been your favorite part about living on campus or commuting?
I do live on campus, and my favorite part is living with my teammates and watching football every weekend.
