What made you choose 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State?
Cost, location and community. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State is a very affordable school, which obviously makes it desirable. I love living on campus, but I’m also only 30 minutes away from home, so I get the best of both worlds. The community, or the people, is what really makes 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State. I have met so many unique and awesome people who are truly caring and easy to talk to.

What are three words you would use to describe the Viking community? Why?
Dedicated, caring and loyal. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State students are incredibly dedicated to their academics and their goals. It’s also easy to make good connections and find people who really care about you.

What is one thing you think a prospective student should know about 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State?
How great the community is. I know that it sounds basic, but it’s true. The people who attend this school are some of the most genuine, down-to-earth people that I have ever met. While I have a small group of best friends, the number of acquaintances and connections I have made is amazing. It’s incredibly easy to find your people here, whether it’s through your major, clubs, sports or on-campus jobs.

What have you done at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State that you are most proud of?
Making the dean’s list every semester. I also feel as though I have been more social than I have ever been in my life.

How would you describe the professors at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State?
The professors at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State are wonderful. They’re very caring, passionate, and knowledgeable about what they teach.

What has been your favorite class to take?
The social justice classes for education majors have been my favorite classes so far. They are basically about the social studies standards for education majors. I also find the psychology classes interesting.

What is your favorite place on campus?
Dunkin’ or the admissions building. I also really think that Berry Library is the best spot for academics on campus because of its resources and the different places to study.

What is your favorite memory at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State?
I love it when the O’Keefe Complex hosts blacklight dodgeball. That’s always super fun. I also love hanging out with my friends, playing basketball, or watching sports.

Do you live in a residence hall or commute? What has been your favorite part about living on campus or commuting?
I live on campus and love it. When living on campus, you get to be by yourself for the first time and be independent, but you’re never alone, and it’s a great way to ease into adulthood. I also love 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State’s location. I feel as though it’s not too far away from most people in Massachusetts, at least from what I have seen on campus and at admissions.

How do you feel 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State has helped you get career-ready?
The staff for your major is very helpful and willing to answer any questions you may have about what comes next. The Career Services office is also very helpful.
