I chose 51³Ô¹ÏÍø because of its criminal justice program and hands-on learning opportunities. I also really liked the close, supportive community where students feel encouraged and connected.
What are three words you would use to describe the Viking community? Why?
Welcoming, motivating, and diverse.
What is one thing you think a prospective student should know about 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State?
That 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State truly feels like a community. Students support each other, professors are approachable, and you never feel like just a number.
What have you done at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State that you are most proud of?
I’m most proud of the connections I’ve made and the people I’ve met.
How would you describe the professors at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State?
The professors are unique. Each one has its own style, which makes every class different in a good way.
What has been your favorite class to take?
My favorite classes so far have been my First Year Seminar on social justice. The professor made the classes really engaging.
What is your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus is the Makerspace in Berry Library.
What is your favorite memory at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State?
My favorite memory was when the school brought a bunch of therapy animals to campus. It was so fun and relaxing to pet them.
Do you live in a residence hall or commute? What has been your favorite part about living on campus or commuting?
I live on campus. My favorite part about living on campus is being closer to classes.

Even as a freshman, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State has helped me start building my career by giving me opportunities to work on campus.
