Graduate Admissions Transcripts and Entrance Exams

An official transcript (or transcript evaluation) documenting your completed or in-progress bachelor’s degree is required for all graduate programs. 51�Թ�� State requires an official transcript from all institutions attended, including those showing any graduate-level courses taken.

Please note: an official transcript or transcript evaluation is one that is sent directly from the institution attended or evaluation agency, either electronically or via standard mail.

If you earned your degree at...

51�Թ�� State (or took classes here): Graduate Admissions will download your transcript for you.
An institution in the United States: Contact the institution's registrar's office so they can issue your official transcript.
An institution outside of the United States: Have your institution send your official records to one of our approved agencies ( (formerly SpanTran), , , , or ) for evaluation. 51�Թ�� State requires a detailed, course-by-course evaluation.

How to send us your transcripts

We recommend that you have your previous transcripts sent electronically, when possible. Electronic transcripts can be sent directly from your previous institution to gradadmissions@salemstate.edu.

If you are unable to send an electronic transcript, transcripts can be mailed to the address below. Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing.

GRE (Graduate Record Exam)

51�Թ�� State can only accept official scores directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). When you take the exam, you can list 51�Թ�� State as a recipient school so we can receive the scores electronically.

If you have already taken the exam, you can order Additional Score Reports (ASRs) online through your at any time during the 5-year period that your scores are valid.

GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test)

51�Թ�� State can only accept official scores directly from the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). When you take the exam, you can list 51�Թ�� State as a recipient school so we can receive the scores electronically.

If you have already taken the exam, you can send your Official Score report online through your , as long as your score is no more than 5-years old. If you have scores older than five years but less than 10 years, GMAC allows you to request that they be sent as long as you have not taken a GMAT exam within the past five years.

MTEL (Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure)
