Congratulations on your decision to pursue your graduate education! Here are some general tips to ensure a smooth application process:

1. Check program application deadline(s) and work backward from the application deadline or start term.
2. so you can receive application reminders and updates.
3. Order official transcripts or transcript evaluations, take any required exams, and organize your references and personal statements.
4. Submit additional information that a graduate program may require, such as a resume, passing exam scores, licensure, or additional writing sample.
5. Once all materials are received, the application will be reviewed by the department. The decision timeline depends on each individual program.
6. When an admissions decision is made, it will be posted in your Navigator account and communicated via email.

Applications are accepted for three enrollment terms: spring, summer and fall. Often referred to as "rolling admissions," you can apply for your desired semester anytime prior to the deadline, and once the application is completed, it is reviewed. Some programs may have a unique deadline or accept for select semesters; see below for additional details.

The earlier you apply, the sooner you receive an admission decision, often as soon as 3-4 weeks after submitting a complete application. Our online application closes one month prior to the upcoming semester.
